All bookings are made with MJS Pilatespace, herein referred to as ‘US’ or ‘WE’. It is your responsibility to read and understand our booking conditions. Your signature on the booking form and your acceptance of our booking conditions through the booking request form will be taken as your and your party’s acceptance of the following conditions:

 

1. BOOKING

No contract with us will exist until we have received your completed booking form.

2. PAYMENTS

All prices and currency exchanges quoted are correct at time of printing and are subject to currency changes.

The payment of the total balance must be paid as follows:

Payment 1 due on June 30th 2019: 50% of the total balance.
Payment 2 due on July 6th 2019: Remaining 50% of the total balance.

 

For bookings made after July 6th 2019, you will be required to pay the full cost of the retreat at the time of booking.

 

If each payment is not received by us by the due dates, we shall be entitled to cancel the booking without prejudice to our claim for cancellation charges.

3. CANCELLATION BY YOU

No one books a retreat with the intention of cancelling it, but should you wish to cancel your booking, or that the booking is cancelled by us due to non-payment, then you will be be entitled to the following percentage of the retreat cost:

 

Cancellations made from 19 to 26 June 2019: 50% of your first payment*

Cancellations made from 27 June to 5 July 2019: 30% of your first payment*

Cancellations made from 6 July 2019 onward: 0%

*Minus any transaction fees and fluctuations in the currency exchange.

We must receive your request for cancellation in writing. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies, an act of God etc.

4. ALTERATIONS / CANCELLATIONS BY US

Though it is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, should this occur, we will advise you at the earliest possible date.

We reserve the right to cancel the retreat as a result of inadequate participant interest, we need a minimum of 7 participants. Should we have to cancel, we will refund the amount you paid to us for the retreat with the exception of the  any transaction fees and adjustments in the currency exchange. We will not be liable for any cancellation charges for travel arrangements. Notification of cancellation by us due to inadequate participation will be sent to you in writing at the earliest possible date.
 

5. PARTICIPANTS
Only those people stipulated on the booking form may use the property. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed on this retreat.
 

6. NO SHOWS OR EARLY/LATE DEPARTURES

No refunds or credits for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early.

7. INSURANCE

We strongly advise that you purchase travel insurance including coverage against trip cancellation as well as medical insurance for any problem prior to and while on the trip. The appropriate coverage should be purchased at the time of the booking. Please note that in the unfortunate event of a cancellation due to any reason, including health reasons, our cancellation terms - as per point 3 - will irrevocably apply.

8. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES
Participants must arrive between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and leave before 10 a.m. on the day of departure.

 

If you wish to arrange arrival or departure at different times than those stated, this must be agreed in advance and in writing. However, please note that in the majority of cases it will not be possible to arrange arrivals after 10 p.m and departures later than 10am.

 

In case of flight delays or any inconveniences while traveling, participants should contact us as soon as possible. Late arrivals are difficult to organize and may result in a late fee being incurred, if so, this must be paid to us upon arrival.

9. SECURITY DEPOSIT

A security deposit of 1000 Euros will be divided equally by all participants and paid on arrival in Euros (cash).  This is to cover the cost of any damage or breakages during your stay at the property.  The amount will be returned, less any applicable claims, on the morning of departure.

10. UNFORESEEN EVENTS
The descriptions in the villa page are accurate and made in good faith. However we declines all responsibility for any modifications made by the owners without our knowledge. We also cannot accept responsibility for the breakdown of the supply of water, gas electricity, nor electronic devices and internet connection, though we will endeavor to do our best to resolve the problem.

11. CLEANING
The property will be cleaned throughout prior to the start of the retreat and should be left by the participants in good condition at the end of the retreat.

12. BEHAVIOR
Should any participant/s behave in a manner that is not acceptable by civilised standards, we reserve the right to have such participant/s vacate the villa and will not be reimbursed any of their payments.

13. PEOPLE WITH HEALTH ISSUES

Individuals with physical limitations and health issues should ensure that they are both safe to travel and safe to participate in the activities offered on the retreat.  If in doubt, please seek the advise of a healthcare practitioner prior to booking this trip. Our certified teachers are experienced in instructing individuals of all levels and provide modified exercises for those with specific needs. Please let us know if you have any concerns. We will provide safe, careful instruction in a safe environment, but ask that each participant to take personal responsibility for their own self-care and (in the unlikely case) for any injuries incurred during the retreat.  We will not be held responsible for any medical or health related issues or accidents. Everyone who has chosen to book this retreat partakes at their own risk and must take all necessary precautions.

14. LOW SLUNG CARS - VANS – MINIBUSES

Often the access road to the property is not paved roads, they can be dirt and gravel roads.  We have been informed that low cars such as sport cars, and vans and minibuses are not advised for these road conditions.

15. SWIMMING POOL
As there is no lifeguard, swimming is at your own risk.

16. HEATING
We do not expect the weather conditions to require heating, but the Villa's heating costs are not included in the price and must be paid directly on the spot to us before departing, if need be. Please note that heating in Italy, when not subject to restrictions by the local Government, is more expensive compared to other countries.You may be asked a supplementary deposit for heating expenses if the weather is unusual.

17. WATER AND ELECTRICITY
​​​​​Please note that the villa is a converted farmhouse and full of character and history. Water shortages may occasionally occur; please use it sparingly during the summer months and be mindful as the retreat will be a group setting.
At the same time, Italy is probably one of the few countries in the world where the government has introduced a system of electricity limiters to contain the national consumption. This means you must be careful when using more than one appliance at once because the limiter will shut the electricity off.

18. INTERNET CONNECTION
As the retreat will be in a remote area the internet connection could be interrupted, or not as fast as you may be used to,so please be aware of this fact.

19. VALUABLES
We advise our participants not to bring valuables, as there is not a safe to secure them. But if you choose to bring them, the villa staff and we cannot be responsible for any losses.

20.TOURIST TAXES IN ITALY
A mandatory local tourist tax (tassa di soggiorno) has been introduced across Italy since 2012. The amount of 10.50 euros in cash (Euro)  is to be paid directly to us upon arrival at the property.

21. DISCLAIMER

MJS Pilatespace and all persons involved in retreats (herein after referred to as "AGENTS") act only in capacity as AGENTS for the participant in all matters connected with the retreat itself, and as AGENTS hold themselves free of responsibility for any damage occasioned by any cause. AGENTS will not be responsible for any damages or expenses or inconveniences caused by late departures or change of schedule, strikes or to their conditions, nor will be responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any of the participant's belongings. All prices and currency exchanges quoted are correct at time of printing, include the cost of operation of the retreat, and are subject to currency changes. AGENTS shall not be responsible for personal injury, death, accident, delay, loss, damage, irregularity or property damage as a result of force majeure or for any other losses or damages incurred by any person or retreat participants caused by any delay or change of itinerary or arising out of any act, including, but not limited to, any act of negligence, any person acting for or on behalf of AGENTS for transportation, accommodation or sight-seeing provider or any other person or entity rendering any of these services or accommodations being offered in connection with this retreat. This agreement supersedes all previous oral or written communications, representations, or agreements between the parties. Participants assume the risk involved when participating in Pilates, yoga, swimming, foreign travel, enbibing and any and all activities and/or pursuits voluntarily undertaken while participating in the retreat. Participants agree that any and all disputes between Participants and MJS Pilatespace shall be governed by Florida law. Participants agree to mediate any and all disputes prior to the institution of any litigation. In the event of any litigation between the Parties to this agreement involving their respective rights or obligations, such litigation shall take place in Palm Beach County, Florida and the prevailing party shall be entitled to recovery of reasonable attorney's fees and court costs of litigation.
